4a Aldermaston to Abingdon
4b Abingdon to Oxford
4c Oxford to err well Oxford actually
You can see this journey in reverse when I came down the Thames from Oxford to Reading in 2015.
Lots of Thames information to be found here at thames.me.uk
Iffley Lock 3 links is such a convenient place to moor that Terry was able to stroll over to Gloucester Green coach station for his coach back to Cambridge. Jim and I in a bit of a quandary as to whether we would take the short cut to the canal via the
Sheepwash Channel 2 links or carry on on the Thames and use the Duke's cut to get us to the canal instead.
This link from thames.me.uk follows the Oxford canal from where it enters the Thames at Sheepwash, round through Jericho and then back out again through the
Duke's cut 2 links to
Port Meadow 3 links.
Anyway, we decided go round Port Meadow and use the Duke's cut and were very glad that we had as the stretch turned out to be one of the best bits of the whole journey.
