Tuesday 10 April: Kirstenbosch Gardens.

This was my second visit to the gardens, the   last time we were here was with sj in mid-winter [July] and this time it was in autumn [April]. Neither time the best for floral displays but lots of other things to see, I especially like the cycad amphitheatre with its lifesized sculptures of African dinosaurs that would have been contempories of similar plants in the garden. The variety and proximity of birdlife is also a pleasant surprise.
